The people of Kazakhstan have actively begun collecting signatures for Serikzhan Bilyash on the nomination of the Nobel Peace Prize. The Kazakh hero Serikzhan is under house arrest in Astana. More than a thousand people signed in Astana. In Almaty, the signing event was twice interrupted by the National Security Committee. Although the National Security Committee called this meeting “illegal and unauthorized,” in fact, the authorities are against Serikzhan Bilash becoming the Nobel Prize winner.
There are two reasons for this: the first is that the first President of Kazakhstan dreamed about this award, but could not receive it. Secondly, the Kazakhstani authorities are afraid that the person they persecuted and kept under arrest will become known in the world arena. Forced interruption of the event calling the “unauthorized assembly” in the Almaty region, the village of Uzynagash indicates that the Authority was afraid that Serikjan would in fact become the Nobel Prize winner.
